loch lomond in mundelein illinois

It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important. ~ Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Seventeen years ago, my family left the home we’d built in Illinois to move to Indiana. Luckily, our best friends from our old neighbourhood bought our house and we’ve been able to go back and visit and even stay there on a regular basis.

This past weekend I was visiting for a wedding shower and had a chance to wander around the yard for twenty minutes or so while I waited for my friend. I’ve taken many pictures over the years of the house and the view from the deck (as seen above).

But, this time I walked around the backyard very slowly, paying attention to the details – the little things. Here’s a sampling of what I saw.
